A famous place called Kazhakatta has a story behind it. One day, the king of the kingdom was bathing in a lake nearby which is linked to Tirumala Hills. As he made his way back to his palace, he was surprised to find that there were no people around him despite it being an important day for worshipers. Asking around, he learned that once every ten years this particular lake evaporates without warning and then reappears just as suddenly with everyone gone. The king decided to investigate the story to find out what really happened. After several days of searching, he finally found the spot where the lake disappeared. He jumped into the lake which quickly evaporated, and was surprised to see that it reappeared just as fast at his feet! The king was even more confused when he saw that his clothes were still wet even though everything was dry around him. Still, there were no people to be seen. He decided to go closer to investigate. He saw footprints in the sand leading away from the lake's edge, and followed them for hundreds of yards until they eventually vanished in a large cave like feature in the rock face nearby. The king was amazed at the sight he saw when he reached near these things. Inside this cave, behind some large rock columns were many statues of some unknown people. There were also several large mirrors and jetties, and some other artifacts that seemed to be part of a temple or shrine. Just then, a priest-like man emerged from the back of the cave! This man had short white hair with turban-like hair extensions which were decorated with jewels. He wore a form fitting black tunic that was worn over khaki shorts along with sandals. He wore no socks or shoes, but his feet looked exceptionally clean. The king was so captivated by the priest's appearance that he could not speak for what seemed to be an eternity. When he finally found his voice, the man spoke first. "Hello, I have been expecting you for a long time now". "You are the ruler of this kingdom are you not? My name is Narada Muni." "I have been watching over all the people here since I came to this place hundreds of years ago." "As you can see, this place is very important to our people. It has been our duty to guard over it and preserve it since our arrival here centuries ago. It has always been kept hidden from everyone's eyes behind these thick rock columns. Our people come here at least once in ten years to worship their God which is why you got so mesmerized by the place. The place was basically buried in the cave, but there are ways to get up to it. However, it has always been my duty to protect this place". "I have longed for the day when I would meet someone with intellect like yours, who would actually be capable of finding this place despite its protection. You see, there were many before you who tried hard in trying to find this place, but they failed miserably." "I know exactly where the temple is located, and I will gladly show it to you. cfa1e77820
